Akasha Yoga has Changed Ownership

The short version of the story...

This Spring, after five years of building and cultivating an inspiring environment for hundreds of yoga students, Kristie Wilson realized that it was time to pursue new adventures in her life.  Natalie Masson, who had rented space at Akasha to teach breathing classes, didn’t want to see the doors close.  She felt a very special kind of energy in the studio, and she had visions of how the space could incorporate a wide variety of healing programs, from yoga to meditation to dance.  Kristie and Natalie realized that it was a perfect opportunity for everyone and they set July 1st as the date for the transition.

What lies ahead?

Natalie is committed to maintaining the same tranquil, friendly and supportive atmosphere that Akasha students have enjoyed for the past five years.  The plan is to expand on Akasha’s current offerings, adding a variety of yoga and other mind-body practices to the schedule.  You can expect to see new classes added toward the end of the summer.  Possibilities include Nia, Tai Chi, QiGong, meditation, restorative/gentle yoga, and psychologically-oriented workshops.

Who is the new owner?

Natalie is a psychologist, a dancer, and an eclectic dabbler in many things.  She earned a Ph.D. in clinical psychology at the University of Southern California in 1999.  She currently runs a private psychology practice across the street from Akasha Yoga, where she strives to help people discover their gifts and pursue their dreams.  She specializes in working with the mind-body connection and teaching restorative breathing techniques that incorporate body awareness and mindfulness.  She believes in working through the both the mind and the body to heal the soul.  She is extremely excited about bringing to the Akasha community innovative programs to support health and celebrate life.

Natalie would like to express deep gratitude to Kristie for all of the heart and sweat she has poured into this studio, and also for having the confidence in her to take the reigns as Akasha enters its next stage of creating harmony for all who pass through its doors and grace its floors.
